Things to know….
We will be receiving our monthly Project A1:8 missions offering this Sunday. A time to make good on your pledge. Also an opportunity to be a part of the great things we are doing around the world. Check out the Project A1:8 site for what’s been happening http://projecta18.wordpress.com/ Thanks for being such great givers into what God is doing around the globe!
For our Techies…. On Saturday, March 21 from 9:00 – 3:00 (CEN) at Ugly Mugs in South Bend. Training on the sound board, computer, how to do videos, Song Show Plus, and more from the best of Heartland! Make this a priority!!!! This is open for everyone (teens included) who currently serve or have an interest in serving as part of our technical team on Sunday mornings. Contact Pastor Shawn or Lyndee if you are going to attend!
This Sunday begins our new sermon series “The Big Give”. I’m excited about this one! I guarantee it will be like no other! And it all leads up to Easter Sunday when the ultimate big give took place! Just wait until you see what the team has done to our church this time. Let’s just say it’s time to celebrate! See you Sunday!
Amazing Kids Winter Camp
I have to say this was one of the best kids camp I’ve been a part of. Around 70 kids plus adults from around Heartland attended. We had nonstop fun from the beginning to end. Awesome music, impactful teaching, crazy activities, far-out food and the greatest kids on the planet!
Ask any one of the 13 kids from our church that attended – it was an experience they will remember for some time! Check out some of our amazing kids this weekend……

Exciting Days
The cool thing about being multi-campus is being able to celebrate the awesome things that happen with our other Heartland friends. Our South Bend campus had a vacant building practically handed to them for nothing! Who does that?
Check out Pastor Heath’s blog for more information on the vision for the new location http://blog.churchoftheheartland.com/
Here’s some pictures of the place too! I’m so excited to see what God has given us to reach people.

…Wha? The Big Give?…

Watch out! We have an amazing sermon series coming in just a few weeks starting March and ending on Easter. Our awesome Crosshairs Team has been working hard to make this Easter season very special. We will be challenged to be givers! GULP! That’s right, get those giving muscles a stretch! Some good ol’ random acts of kindness. I cannot wait to look for ways to give to others. Don’t worry, the whole thing will be explain very soon, I just wanted to give a little teaser!
For goodness sake, Don’t Forget……..
This is your final week guys and gals! That’s right, Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. This is time to shower love and affection to your significant other – and for goodness sake, please do something special. Here’s a little video to remind you of that special moment that began the wonderful life you now have together………….
Youth Party!
We had a very successful kickoff of our newly revived youth ministry. 14 youth packed into our home! We had best youth food ever - pizza, chips, candy, and pop! And who would of thought of the talent of our youngins as they entertained us with their karaoke skills! It was such a fun night and reminded me of how old I have become. The teen group voted on meeting together once a month for fun and friendship. So be looking for the next event coming in March! Check out some of our amazing teens!

100% Participation
Are you looking for a place to fit in our church? A place to use your talents, skills God has given you? Our 2009 motto is 100% participation!
Think of our church as a sports team. Pastor Shawn is our coach – teaching, inspiring, & encouraging us. He could coach until he was “blue in his face” but unless us, the congregation, take the ball and participate, we will never win a game. It takes all of us using our talents together. CROSSHAIRS is how you can get involved! The great thing about Church of the Heartland is that everyone is invited participate – there is no elite group here. Everyone’s input, opinions, suggestions, creative ideas are welcomed and encouraged!
Here’s a quick run-down of the areas you could particiate:
The Net Team focuses on reaching people that don’t know Christ in our community and around the world! They brainstorm ideas like community outreaches, church growth, international missions, advertising, promotions.
The Experience Team focuses on making the Sunday morning service special from stage design, worship team, decorations, multimedia, welcome team.
The Next Generation Team focuses on reaching our kids and teens through special events, camps, sunday mornings, weekdays from Nursery to KWAM (kids with a mission grades 1-5) to Rock Youth grades 6-12.
The Pipeline Team focuses on helping people grow in Christ by tracking people from the time they recieve Christ into their life until they reach their God-given potential. This is done through Pipeline classes, caring for people going through personal crisis, follow-up, discipleship, etc.
Which one of these teams do you see yourself being involved? I’m so excited to see where we can go and how many we can reach by us working together as a body. There is power in teamwork! We need your gifts and talents to reach and love people here in Starke County.
So, CROSSHAIRS, this Sunday immediately after service! Lunch and childcare will be provided for you. I look forward to seeing your faces! I love, love, love going to church with you!
The day after……
Although I never watched a regular season game, I did watch the entire Superbowl game. Here’s some thoughts of the night……
At first, I was mostly excited to watch the commercials, eat homemade pizza, and the halftime show with Bruce Springsteen.
My kids are banned from eating popcorn or pizza or any food for that matter ever again in the living room. I don’t know how many times bowls of popcorn spilled on the floor but the floor crunch under your feet by the end of the night. Plus I have a pizza stain on my off-white carpet. I went a little pyscho for a minute.
Shawn thought it would be a nice treat to let the kids drink orange soda, again banned for life.
I was disappointed that Bruce Springstein didn’t sing Born in the USA.
My favorite commerical was the pepsi max one at the beginning of the night. Wasn’t crazy impressed with any others.
Football players that have long dreads hanging out of their helmets remind me of the Predator, ya know from the movie Predator with Arnold Swartza..something. Maybe its just me.
This morning my house looks like I had an awesome ripping party with lots of people but it sadly was just our family of four. We are such pigs at times.
I was honestly a little more excited to watch the all-new one hour of The Office after the ganme – one of my favorite shows.
Excited to see the previews of my other favorite show – Heroes – which starts tonight. Do I watch too much TV?
I found at this morning that Jennifer Hudson lip-sync the national anthem. No wonder I thought it was really good.
I’m realizing I sound like such a girl writing this blog- did I mention the football game? Yes I do understand football and I did watch it in it’s entirety which turned out to be an exciting game. I was cheering for the Cardinals because they were the underdogs. I thought they were going to pull it off at the end. But hats off to the Steelers-they are a tough team.
Those were my superbowl thoughts now off to vacuum the popcorn and wash to pizza pans….. Oh I just had another thought….. I bet no guy ever thinks of the mess and cleanup after a superbowl party uugg. I know mine has to go to “work” – very convenient!
